About Mile High SHRM
Mile High Society for Human Resource Management (Mile High SHRM) is an organization founded in 1938 to help Human Resources professionals and improve the industry. Their mission is to “advance the HR profession, further the careers of Denver’s HR practitioners, and support the ongoing education of HR leaders”.
They do that with the help of their more than a thousand members, all of which hold different positions in the HR industry. Some are students, some are directors for a great company, as well as consultants or legal counsels, among others. A great team to target the industry’s issues from different perspectives.
If you admire this organization, you can also be a member. They just implemented dual membership. So you’ll get both a Mile High SHRM Membership and a National SHRM Membership at the same time. This dual membership is required.
There’s also a Student Membership for all those that are studying something related to HR. And there’s the In-Transition Membership for those who want a career in HR but aren’t “permanently placed in a full-time or part-time position yet”. For these last two memberships it’s also required to have a SHRM Membership.
To make this organization even better, they also host the Elevate HR Awards. This is a recognition to those professionals that are “advancing Human Resources in their organization or community”. The coolest thing is that you can nominate whoever you think deserves it!
In fact, nominations are currently open until September 30th, 2023. Winners “will be announced at the Mile High SHRM Holiday Social”. So, hurry up and nominate your favorites!
