Ready for one of the best global mobility events of the year? As a committed mobility professional, you might feel like you still have a lot to learn, and you feel excited to do it. If that’s your case, good news! The Global Workforce Symposium is coming up very soon! It’s an interesting, fun and full of knowledge event that you won’t want to miss. It’s going to be huge!

About Worldwide ERC

Worldwide ERC is an organization that wants to help the mobility industry and community grow in an innovative way.

They base their goals on a “Three-year Strategic Plan”. It consists of engaging, which means they connect mobility professionals from anywhere in the world. They also inspire; they do this by taking the industry’s efficiency, knowledge and leadership to new, extraordinary levels. Finally, it also consists of educating the industry’s community.

If you admire the organization’s principles and objectives, you can become a member. There are different memberships for you to choose the best one for your business profile. There’s the Professional/Personal Membership which costs $265. There’s also the Corporate Premier Membership, which costs $295. And the Service Provider Memberships, whose costs can vary depending on which one you choose. All of them have different benefits, including access to the online directory and discounts to events.

The Global Workforce Symposium (GWS) is a four-day event to help you learn something new about the industry and improve your business skills. You’ll know what to expect from the industry in today’s world and in the future. And you’ll find solutions to the challenges you can face in this business. You’ll also do some networking. So, it’s a very useful event.

They promise to “[…] encourage you to embrace innovation, creativity, and cutting-edge ideas to STAY RELEVANT AND THRIVE…”

They also know that in these huge, long events, people need time to relax and recharge energy every now and then. That’s why they’ll have their very own Well-Being Room! Don’t be afraid of going there if you need it.

If you attend the GWS, you’ll be eligible to get (S)CRP, (S)GMS and (S)GMS-T recertification credits.

You can still register! If you’re a Worldwide ERC member and register today, it’ll cost you $2,085. If you’re not a member, it’ll cost $$2,525. The Immigration Strategic Summit conference will have a cost of $375. The Corporate Housing Providers Pre-Conference Workshop will cost $275. And the Worldwide ERC Foundation Party will also cost $275.

October 17th
They’ll start at 8:30 am with the registration and a networking lounge. The networking lounge will be open until 4:00 pm, so you can meet people there during all those hours. The registration will be open until 6:30 pm.

Then, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, there will be the “Immigration Strategic Summit”. Meanwhile, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm there’s going to be another meeting, this time about sustainability. From 2:15 pm to 3:45 pm there will be the first part of a roundtable discussion. At the same time, from 3:00 pm to 3:45 pm there will be a “First-Time Attendee Session”. Then, from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm the opening general session and the reception will take place. To finalize the day, there will be an open evening with a “dinner buddies” program from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. This is the perfect time to do some networking, which is a fun way to end the first day of the event.

October 18th
From 7:00 am to 8:00 am they’ll start with their “Young Professionals Taskforce Bootcamp”, where they’ll get you moving by working out. It’s a fresh idea to start a busy and interesting day. After that, at 8:30 am the networking lounge will open, and it’ll be like that up until 4:00 pm. Registration will be available from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm.

Then, the keynote by Heather McGowan will take place from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. After that, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, there will be the “RMC Industry Vertical Panel: Workforce Transformation and AI” meeting. Then, it’s coffee time!
After that networking break, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, there will be various sessions to attend. Choose the one you’re more interested in or you need to learn more from. Then, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm they’ll host a “Certification lunch + break”, which is an informational session to learn about the GMS or CRP programs. At the same time, the second part of the corporate roundtable discussions will take place, along with lunch. During that same time, there’s going to be a “Service Providers Roundtables with Lunch”. If you choose not to attend any of these discussions and meetings, you can still get some lunch.

After this, from 2:45 pm to 3:45 pm, there’ll be more multiple sessions to choose from. From 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm there’ll be an “exhibit hall open” and something everybody loves: a happy hour! From 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, they’ll once again have their open evening and dinner buddies program.

October 19th
The networking lounge will be open from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm and the registration from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. From 10:00 am to 11:00 am there will be multiple sessions about different topics to choose from. After that, from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm there will be more multiple sessions to listen to.

From 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm there will be an exhibit hall & lunch, where you’ll be able to network with fellow professionals. Meanwhile, there’ll be various innovative labs. From 12:30 pm to 12:50 pm, there’s going to be an innovation lab about AI. After that, from 12:55 pm to 1:15 pm there’ll be the “Innovation Lab: Time for a SHIFT in your Global Mobility Model”. Then, from 1:20 pm to 1:40 pm, there’ll be another lab called “Managing the Small Move Tsunami”. Then it’s time for more multiple sessions from 2:15 pm to 3:15 pm.

Then, at 3:30 pm the general session called “Generative AI and Global Talent Mobility Panel: Where Can We Go From Here?”. It will last one hour.
From 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm they’ll have their exhibit hall and the happy hour. Meanwhile from 4:45 pm to 5:05 pm it’s time for the “The Power of Automation in Global Immigration” innovative lab. Then, from 5:10 pm to 5:30 pm there’ll be another mobility and AI innovative lab. After all that, from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm it’s time for the “Buses to Foundation for Workforce Mobility Party”. From 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm there’s going to be another opening evening and the dinner buddies program.

To end the day on a good note, there’s going to be a “party with a purpose” from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. This is the perfect chance to network and chill. You’ll make some new important business contacts while having fun and being charitable.

October 20th
They’ll start the day at 8:00 am with their “Foundation for Workplace Mobility Walk”. This awesome activity will last 45 minutes. Then, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am they’ll host a “departure breakfast”. A very peaceful and happy way to end the event.

Speakers

Keynote speaker: Heather E. McGowan
Heather E. McGowan is a speaker specialized in the future of work. This means that she’ll teach you what you need to succeed in today’s business world and what to expect in the future. She’s aware of how much an industry can change just because the world is always evolving. She’ll help you change your mindset for the better.

She’ll specifically help you understand that you should keep learning in order to improve as an employee or boss. Some of the topics she touches are “[…] Empowerment, Engagement, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion”. As that’s the present and future of work, so you all should be educated on them.

She also “[…] helps individuals and organizations lay the foundation for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which will be notable for the rapid advancement of technology…”

By learning with her, you’ll learn how to engage, motivate and retain your talent. This will inevitably make you a better leader and help your organization grow.

According to her LinkedIn, McGowan studied an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Finance at Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. She also got a BFA in Industrial Design at Rhode Island School of Design. And most recently, in 2022, she got an honorary degree in Doctorate in Fine Arts by the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design.

She has also gained a lot of work experience and has been a speaker for 23 years! Even better, she’s worked with many amazing companies, such as IKEA, Google and Microsoft.

As if all this weren’t enough, she’s also an author. She wrote “The Adaptation Advantage” and “The Empathy advantage”. Now you have two great readings if you want to keep learning from her after the event.

Opening General Session Speaker: Doc Hendley
Doc Hendley got a bachelor’s degree in Communication at North Carolina State University. Some of the skills he lists on his LinkedIn are public speaking, nonprofits and event planning.

He founded Wine to Water in 2004 and he’s been functioning as their President since then. With this important foundation, Doc Hendley wants to bring “[…] clean water to people in need anywhere in the world”.

On top of leading that great cause, he’s also an author. In 2012, he published “Wine to Water: How One Man Saved Himself While Trying to Save the World”. It talks about Hendley’s own story of transforming from a bartender to the founder of an organization that helps with the water crisis.

There will be more than a hundred speakers throughout the days of the event and in all the different conferences. So, you can’t miss the chance to learn from many experts!
