The start of a new year is the perfect opportunity to reflect on how the global mobility industry has changed. You can check the current industry trends and problems and what it needs to keep growing. Analyzing how both the industry, and your company evolved during the past year, will help you know how to help your company progress even more.
To do that, you can help yourself by listening to the best by attending conferences and events led by other relocation professionals that present important observations about the industry.
One of those events will be the NTRP Educational Luncheon with Lynn Shotwell. There, you’ll learn about what happened in 2022 within the mobility business. And with that information, you can think about how to better upgrade your skills and company.
About North Texas Relocation Professionals
North Texas Relocation Professionals (NTRP) is an organization committed to the education and networking of relocation experts. They achieve their educational goals through the different events and conferences they host throughout the year.
NTRP has a great history that backs them up as a great institution for relocation and mobility matters. In 1998, the Tarrant County Relocation Council (TCRC) merged with the Metroplex Relocation Forum and they formed the North Texas Relocation Council. Then, they united with the Dallas Relocation Professionals (DRP) and the NTRP that we know was born.
They have the NTRP Outreach Program which is about giving back to the community. This year, they’ll give a scholarship to at least two high school seniors in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The scholarships can range from $1,000 to $3,000.
To get one, you’ll have to meet some requirements, like having been relocated 50 miles and changing schools. Keep in mind that students that apply also must have a good grade point average. The deadline to submit your application is March 17th, 2023, and they’ll tell the winner privately on March 31st, 2023. The winner will be officially awarded during the “NTRP Spring Luncheon” on April 13th, 2023.
If you want to support the NTRP group and receive its benefits, you can become a member. One of the advantages for members is an online directory to contact other NTRP members and relocation professionals. You’ll also be able to attend meetings where you can earn CRP credits. You can be a member if you’re a corporate relocation professional, a relocation management company, a household goods moving and storage, and more.
There are three different memberships. There’s “Corporate Member”, which is for free and for workers of the relocation or human resources business. It’s also for an unlimited period. Then, there’s “Member”, which costs $75, and lasts 1 year. It’s for workers of a relocation management company, real estate appraisers, and others. And, finally, there’s the “Professional Member”, which costs $75 and lasts 1 year.
Not only that! The Saul Gresky Award is presented annually to one NTRP member who has done a fantastic job as a relocation expert. The name of this award is based on Saul Gresky, the first person to receive it.

Want to Take Your Global Mobility Company to the Next Level? Learn a New Language!
Events and conferences are one amazing way to keep up with everything going on in the industry. But how else could you become even better at your job? By learning a second or even third language. And, by helping your employees to learn that language as well!
How will this help? Knowing another language besides your mother tongue will allow you to communicate with more people around the world. This will eventually translate into reaching new international markets, from which your relocation company will benefit.
Your current clients will trust you more because you’re constantly improving. And new potential clients will feel like you really care about them if you’re willing to learn a new language just to talk to them. But it’d be better if your entire team also learns that second language. After all, they’re helping you grow the company, and oftentimes they’re also speaking with the clients.
How do you achieve that? With Fluency Corp, of course! We have online and onsite corporate language classes. Every program is customized to the job and your needs. So you can be sure that you and your team will communicate your message properly. We also focus on speaking, so you all can hold a fluent conversation with any business partner.
And because we know that your employees might have a tight agenda, we have flexible schedules. You just have an hour and any language, and we’ll teach it to you.
