If you need proof, HRP demonstrates just that with their next event: “The 16th Annual Golf Tournament Benefiting Candlelighters”. So if you’re a relocation professional looking to help others but also have a relaxing time, this is the event for you. You’ll also get to connect with fellow professionals. You can’t miss it!
About HRP
Houston Relocation Professionals (HRP) is an organization that wants to “[…] provide education and networking opportunities…” to all global mobility, relocation and Human Resources professionals.
Every year they have a Board of Directors and a President to watch that the organization keeps growing and improving. According to their President’s message, in 2023, they made the commitment of growing the member engagement, having volunteer committees and creating a corporate advisory panel.
And just like that, every year they make sure all HRP goals are met. This Board of Directors is composed of mobility professionals from different areas and roles in the industry, like mortgage, real estate and corporate advisors. So, there are different perspectives on every HRP matter and discussion.
Besides helping industry professionals, they love to help their community as well and supporting Candlelighters is one way to do that. But they also offer scholarships. These are for high school seniors “[…] in good standing in a Houston area public school”.
Another must to participate is that they have to have been relocated more than fifty miles and, therefore, change schools. Of course, there are more requirements and an application to fill. And the 2024 applications are already open. So hurry up and don’t miss this chance!
You can be a member if you want. If you’re a corporate relocation professional, you’ll get a free annual membership. If you’re a service provider, membership costs $125.
Remember that becoming a member is about commitment, but it also brings great benefits for you. Some of them are discounts for the HRP annual Spring and Fall educational Seminar and the chance to join activities that help Candlelighters.

“The 16th Annual Golf Tournament Benefiting Candlelighters” is an amazing event that has raising funds for the Candlelighters organization as their main goal. But it will also benefit you.
How? You’ll gather with many other relocation professionals in this golf tournament to play and network. So, it’s your chance to make important business contacts and maybe even friends. It’s also an event with a cool and different activity, so you’ll have a great time.
But let’s not forget about Candlelighters. This is an incredible organization that, in their own words, “[…] provides emotional, educational and practical support to families of children with cancer”. They are very aware of all the challenges families of children with cancer and kids go through, so they try to help in any way they can.
They have support groups, give hospital meal passes, offer toiletry bags for those who need it for their hospital stays, and more. So, don’t hesitate in attending this event. It’s your time to use your relocation power to support a good cause.
Their agenda is already planned, so everything goes well during the event. Registration will start at 9:30 am. “Shot gun” will start at 10:30 am. Then, at 3:00 pm is finally time for a BBQ lunch. It’ll be delicious!
After that, at 3:30 pm it’s the 19th hole celebration with raffle prizes and awards. If you’re not a golfer, you can still have fun. During the game there will be a “Paint Party”.
You can still register to be a player or be part of the paint event. The individual ticket costs $125. If you want to play as a foursome, it’ll cost $500. All the registrations for the players will come with benefits, such as the golf cart and a gift bag.
The ticket for the non-golfers that want to be part of their art event will cost $125 for an individual. The art party registrations will also bring benefits, like art supplies and the option of staying for the BBQ lunch.
If what you want is to be a sponsor, there’s also still time to register for that. You can choose among the different options still left. You can be a Title Sponsor by paying $5000. You could also be a Birdie Sponsor for $2,500. You can also be a Candlelighters Tribute Gold Sponsor for $800.
If you prefer, choose the Closest to Pin sponsorship that costs $500. There’s also the Friend of Candlelighters Sponsor that will cost you just $150. Choose to be the Paint Party Sponsor for $1,000. You can also choose the Sponsor a Candlelighters Kids’ Hole for $350. Or be the Straightest Drive Sponsor for only $500.
And it all gets even better. You can donate something for their raffle. According to them, you can donate things like sports events tickets, jewelry and gift cards, but they also accept many other things. Check the instructions here.
