If you work in the Global Mobility industry, you know that you must learn and update your skills constantly. This is because the industry changes as the world does so, so you better be prepared for the current job demands.
But let’s not forget that using any opportunity to network is just as important. Creating contacts and good ties to others will make you better at your job and it’ll help you grow.
But it’s easy for new Global Mobility employees and graduates to get lost in this huge industry and not know where to start. If that’s your case, then we suggest you attend a few mobility events and conferences. This will give you insight from experts and you’ll be able to connect with fellow professionals.
In fact, the BAMM NextGen Summer Kickoff Event is coming up very soon and aims to inspire the new generation of mobility talents. So, why not take the chance? There’s nothing to lose and you might improve your already valuable skills.
About BAMM
Bay Area Mobility Management (BAMM) is a forum for all experts of the mobility industry in the San Francisco Bay Area. They educate about this business, give networking opportunities, serve their community and help grow the industry for the better.
In their own words, they’re always “educating, elevating, and connecting the Bay Area Mobility Community”. The way to achieve that is by offering mobility events throughout the year, as well as different programs and resources.
BAMM’s success and willingness to help professionals is of no surprise when you realize that they were born from the merging of two Human Resources organizations: BAPRM and WIPA. They also have more than a thousand members up to this day, all of whom help them work towards their goals. If you want to be one of them, check their membership program.
They have a Corporate Membership for all those who are the receivers of services. That is, those that need relocation services to help move their employees. Then, there’s the Supplier Membership for those who provide the relocation services, these could go from temporary living to immigration.
Both memberships have different benefits, but some in common are to “expand your professional network” and “access to presentations and member only content”. Memberships last 1 year, but you can renew it if you want to keep being a part of BAMM.
If you prefer, you can be a sponsor. They have Keystone and Mission Community Supporter programs, with which both BAMM and your own organization can win something from. Some of the benefits you can get are the logo on the homepage of BAMM’s website. As well as the logo on their sponsorship directory, and even 2 registrations for their annual conference.
If you’re a Keystone and Mission Community Supporter, then you could also sponsor something for their annual conference. It could be the keynote speaker, the free Wi-Fi, the breakfast, among other things. Contact them to see all the options, benefits and rules you’ll have as a sponsor.
Now you might be wondering how they help their community. Well, by supporting two amazing organizations. The first one is StandUp for Kids, which helps homeless youth. The second is Upwardly Global, which helps immigrants and refugees get a job.
Finally, they also offer college scholarships to two high school seniors who have been relocated to Northern California. So they get a weight off their shoulders to continue with their studies.

BAMM creates NextGen events to connect with what will be the next generation of mobility professionals and help them improve. In their own words, “these events will be focused on building skills and connections within the industry”. Those are very necessary things to succeed in this business, so new professionals will truly benefit from that.
The BAMM NextGen Summer Kickoff Event has three specific points: education, networking and mentorship.
To educate, they’ll teach you basic stuff about your new (or old) career and “how to find and become a good mentor”. And though they say that is mainly for new professionals, they also emphasize that everyone can take something from it. After all, we never stop learning.
They also say that their mission is “TO INSPIRE FORWARD-LOOKING team members and new joiners in the global mobility industry”. So, whether you’re new in the industry or not, what matters the most is your enthusiasm for growing, learning and changing for the best.
To help you network, they’ll have enough time for you to interact with new people. So you can make friends and develop or strengthen your business connections.
For the mentorship section, they’ll make sure the best Global Mobility experts are there as speakers. So, you can learn from them. Plus, by networking with fellow professionals, you’ll also learn from them, so in a way they’ll be like a mentor.
Registration will start from 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Then, from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm there will be a welcome kickoff and sponsor intro. The activity and networking time will come after that, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Finally, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 there will be a happy hour, the perfect way to end a business event.
You can still register for the event.
