Now, you must look for ways to learn it, which we believe it’s what you’re already doing if you click on this blog.

We always recommend business English classes; nothing can top a great class dictated by a great English teacher. But we know that’s not always possible or affordable at first. Or maybe you don’t have enough time yet to go to class.

So, here are some free resources to learn business English. These work whether you’re learning completely by yourself or using them as an after school hours resource practice, which we highly recommend doing.

BBC Learning English

BBC has many videos on their website related to learning business English. You can learn many different things about English for work in this series, as they have many episodes.

There are many podcasts about English for the office, and videos about business jargon.

As well as many different videos on how to handle job interviews in English. From writing your resume to talking about yourself during the interview.

There’s also a listening conversation about jobs, so you can get in some English listening practice to learn how to speak about your job. As well as many episodes about international law and its interference in many world issues.

There are even more than 60 video animations about English for work!

If you prefer to learn by reading, below each video on the website there’s a transcription of it.

We recommend you do both, listening to the video while reading the transcription. Or listening or watching the videos first and then reading the transcription, so you reinforce the knowledge. This way, you’ll improve your listening, writing, and reading!

YouTube

We know this might sound a bit weird to you. YouTube? Really? How can it help my English business skills? Well, believe us or not, it’s a great tool for language learning, even when your focus is on something as serious as business.

On YouTube you can find all kinds of videos about all kinds of topics. That means, you can also find some videos about learning English for business. There are, actually, many youtubers whose main focus is learning languages, specifically English.

Look up your favorites and watch their videos. From the ones about English for any occasion to the ones about English for business and work. Everything helps and adds to your English journey.

You’ll acquire tons of vocabulary but also learn the correct pronunciation of some difficult words and improve your listening. So it’ll help many areas of your language skills.

We highly recommend videos where a person acts or recreates a scene. So you can feel more like in a real-life situation and therefore you’ll learn how to use that vocabulary in real life.

You could also look for videos in English about other topics, not just language learning. For example: Daily life as a nurse or interviewing a CEO. This will help you improve your language while watching a truly real business or work situation.

Job Search Platforms

That’s right! What a better way to learn English than to look to platforms that help people search for their dream jobs. Of course, make sure the platform is in English, not translated at all.

Many of these platforms have a blog on their websites. That’s exactly what you should look for. Start reading the blogs in English that you think are more related to your business. So you can learn English specifically for your needs and your industry.

If the platform also allows any person to publish a text on their profiles, go read different texts and stories in English. These platforms are all about business and work, so you’ll learn a lot of English vocabulary and writing by reading these individual’s personal perspectives on these topics.

Oxford Online English

Oxford Online English is a website where you can get English classes about business for free. There are videos on many different English business topics.

The videos are very much like a normal class, with a teacher talking and a board (in this case a screen) behind them with text. So, it might seem like a tight way of learning. But it can be useful to learn grammar and details you haven’t understood fully yet in your classes.

Plus, if you want to acquire the British accent, this is a great option to listen to it and train your ear and pronunciation!
